At Manleys Basics, giving back is part of who we are.

From supporting local charities to community initiatives, we’re proud to contribute to the well-being of Sarnia-Lambton — one project at a time.

Back to School with Purpose — Supporting Local Students

At Manleys Basics, we believe in supporting our community and helping local students reach their full potential.

This summer, we proudly joined The Inn of the Good Shepherd to assemble Back to School Kits that will soon be in the hands of those who need them most.
With the incredible generosity of our customers, we also provided school supply kits available for purchase through Manleys Basics — helping support elementary and high school students across Sarnia-Lambton.

Every filled backpack is an opportunity for a student to start the year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
Together, we’re building confidence, inspiring learning, and strengthening our community one kit at a time.

Canada Day Spirit — Celebrating Community and 125 Years of Manleys Basics

During the Village of Point Edward’s Canada Day celebrations, Manleys Basics was proudly recognized as the Best Dressed Business for our festive storefront and team spirit!

Shelley from the Village of Point Edward presented owners Lisa and Carolyn with a $100 gift card to Davy Jones, which will be used to host a staff BBQ celebrating our 125 years in business and the amazing team who makes it all possible.

As part of the award, Manleys selected St. Clair Child & Youth Services as our charity of choice for the accompanying $100 community donation — supporting local programs that make a real difference for children and families.

We’re honoured to be part of such a vibrant and caring community and encourage all Point Edward businesses to join in the celebration and decorate next year!

Race to Erase 2025 — Coming Together for Local Charities

At Manleys Basics, we’re proud to be part of community events that make a real difference — and Race to Erase 2025 was one of them!

This year, the city of Sarnia-Lambton came together to raise over $35,000 in support of local charities through a day filled with teamwork, challenges, and community spirit.

Our team was thrilled to host “The Supply Run Challenge” at our store, where participants stopped by Manleys Basics to complete one of the race’s creative tasks. A special shoutout goes to Jody, a dedicated member of our team, who led our station with great energy and care.

It was an honour to open our doors and contribute to such a meaningful cause — one that truly reflects the values of generosity, collaboration, and local pride that define our community.

The BIG Squeeze 2025 — Turning Lemonade into Impact

At Manleys Basics, we believe that small actions can make a big impact — and The BIG Squeeze 2025 was proof of that!

With the incredible support of our customers, neighbours, and friends, we raised $228.35 to help fund life-changing mentorship programs for local youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton and United Way Sarnia-Lambton.

From every glass of lemonade poured to every smile shared, this event reminded us what community spirit truly means.

We’re proud to stand alongside local businesses and residents who make Sarnia a brighter, more connected place to live and work.

Thank you for helping us turn lemonade into lasting change. 🍋

Manleys Basics Supports Tampon Tuesday

At Manleys Basics, we believe in supporting causes that make a real difference in the lives of people in our community. That’s why during the month of May, we proudly hosted a donation bin for the #TamponTuesday initiative — a campaign dedicated to ending period poverty in Sarnia-Lambton.

Thanks to the generosity of our customers and staff, we collected essential hygiene products for women and youth who face barriers in accessing menstrual care.

A special thank you to our amazing team, and of course, to everyone who donated with heart. This campaign shows that when a community comes together, great things happen.

Committed to our community

At Manleys Basics, we believe that local businesses have both the responsibility and privilege of giving back to the community that supports them. That’s why we take pride in actively collaborating with various non-profit organizations throughout Sarnia and Lambton County.

A great example of this commitment was our participation in the “Let’s Do Lunch with Red & Ko” event, organized by the Sarnia & District Humane Society. Thanks to the teamwork of our staff, we were able to donate the office supplies needed to coordinate over 1,200 lunch orders, helping raise essential funds for the thousands of animals who come to the shelter each year in need of care and protection.

We are honoured to know that our contribution helped make this event a total success. Ongoing support from local businesses like ours allows animal welfare organizations to continue their vital work.

We’re here to serve — not just in your office, but in your community.
